Nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, Cotswold Airport, formally RAF Kemble, boasts a past as captivating as its scenic surroundings. From its humble beginnings as a Royal Air Force base to its current incarnation as a vibrant hub for general aviation, a thriving base for aviation and non-aviation related businesses, and a bespoke function venue.
Whilst operated by the MOD, the airport was famous for being the home of the RAF Aerobatic Team, the 'Red Arrows'. This history is commemorated with a Red Arrow ‘GNAT’ taking pride of place beside the airport’s café & restaurant, AV8.
2022 saw the installation of British Airways B747-400, G-CIVB ‘Negus’, as an elegant and unique space for conferences, weddings, corporate events and private hire. Negus adds another piece of aviation history to this already storied airfield.
A huge range of accommodation is available around the area, from hotels , AirbnB or camping. Overnight parking is available on-site (collection after 10am-4.30pm Sunday 8th June) and return transport can be arranged from Cirencester, De Vere Water Park hotel and Swindon, please contact us for further information.
Directions
Cotswold Airport is situated seven miles to the south west of the old Roman town of Cirencester and has two separate entrances. This is because the main east west runway divides the airfield in two.
Enter the postcode GL7 6BA or What Three Words ///navy.pens.stirs into your navigation system to access the airport by road.
Cotswold Airport is conveniently located with approximately an hour and thirty minutes drive in to London with an excellent link road to the M4.
